Hello there! I'm Sheryn, a 26-year-old American girl who lives in Dubai. This is my blog (duh). I like to blog because it helps make my memories last longer. Much like pictures. Which this blog often contains. If you're not related to me, I'm not sure why you're reading this. Hello? Contact me: dubaiandi.tumblr@gmail.com Cooking Blog: www.allthecalories.com

The post I wrote the other day has led to some back and forth commenting on dogs in Dubai and I was reminded of something that happened a couple of weeks ago…
I was walking Beesly in the desert area across from where I live. Well, I was walking and she was off her leash chasing pieces of garbage that were rolling in the wind and generally frolicking around as dogs do.
I usually don’t see any other people in that area, but once in awhile some man will come walking through. Usually a man that Beesly is racist towards. She always flips out when she sees these guys. She barks like mad and takes off running towards them, like she’s protecting me.
Once she bark-and-run attacked a huge body-builder type who clearly wasn’t afraid of dogs and just kept on walking. Simon said “Can you pick on someone a little bigger Bees?!”
Another time she bark-and-run attacked a man and I saw him try his hardest to not show fear by stuffing his hands in his pockets and suddenly walking very quickly.
A couple of weeks ago, which is what this post started being about but I’m typing this on my phone because my laptop battery has died and I’m at work and tumblr is blocked on work computers (supposedly for being a “time waster” and “distracting people from doing work at work”)… So forgive the sloppy storytelling and everything please…
A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, Beesly took off running towards a man and he simply stopped, crouched slightly, and cupped his privates with both hands.
I would be a liar if I said the occasional bark-and-run attack didn’t make me feel better about the times that kids try to startle her.
And I will stop blogging about my dog now.
Sorry, FOR now.
