Happy 24th Birthday, Natalie!

Natalie is my oldest younger sister.  Today, she turns 24.

Here we are as kids.

Isn’t she so cute?  (And didn’t I look like a boy?  Aww.)

Natalie loves (like, CRAZY loves) animals.

(Our late dog Emma, the sweetheart.)

Natalie is a comedienne and has great acting and singing skills, too.

Here she is after a performance of “The Littlest Angel” that she starred in (she was The Littlest Angel) when she was 7.

Natalie is good at being Natalie.  She knows a lot more about who she is as a person than I did at her age.  She embraces her personality.  She’s strong and unapologetic.

Natalie is the person that will tell you the truth about how you look before you leave the house.  She’ll also happily volunteer to do your hair and makeup, which is great. Because then you don’t have to do it.

Natalie has a real sense of style.  I have always been impressed by her ability to blow-dry her hair with a round brush, pick out home decor, apply eyeliner and walk in heels.  This is coming from the girl who currently has this:

proudly hanging in her living room.

Natalie and I are not cut from the same cloth, and that can be a great thing in a sister.

I love the girl.  I am so proud of her for doing so well at her new job with Coca Cola.  I am so in love with her new little puppy Salina.  I am so looking forward to seeing her in just two weeks (and hopefully making up for the fact that I didn’t even send her birthday card yet).

Sorry Nat.

I love you so much, and I hope you have a perfect 24th birthday.  You are doing well in life, and you will only get better.  These next few years are going to be ones where you learn a lot about yourself and this world, and I look forward to that so much for you.  You’re going to go far, and I’m so proud to be your big sister.

Love,

Shoon
